Breathe

I think that my New Zealand trip may be back on. I've been working six days a week at work 10 hours a day and I realized that I could go to Hawaii, but honestly I feel like I'm planning on going only because I can get a hook up through work. It's Hawaii and I've never been but I feel like I need a bigger vacation. I haven't been on a real vacation in a long time and I feel like I need an adventure.

New Zealand is still somewhere I really want to go. And I can go on my own without having to worry about finding someone to go with me. I'm hoping to do an adventure tour, be with other travelers and get to see lots of the country without have to worry about how to get there or what to do once I am there. I'm thinking about the following companies:

Serious Fun New Zealand
(Either the Top 2 Bottom tour of one of the islands or the Best of the South Island)
Active New Zealand (this one is maybe a little TOO active for me)
Black Sheep Touring Company (I really like this one, but it is way out of my price range...sigh)

I have to make sure that I can get time off work in October/Novemeber, but there is no reason that I shouldn't be able to. Hopefully I'll have some set plans in the next couple of weeks. I need a light at the end of the tunnel to view otherwise I may go crazy at work.

do you have to sleep outside on these tours? you might be losing me.

I didn't think you would be able to go. As it is expensive and I don't know what your plans are. No sleeping outside, but on the hiking portions of some our in the middle of no where.

in the middle of nowhere with indoor plumbing?

i have no plans! and considering that i've been abroad already for 4 days and have thus far spent only 50 euros, i'd say i'm still going to have some money when i get home. there's no shopping in athens. well, that's probably a lie. tomorrow, i'm going to a bazaar in monastiraki, so maybe there will be actual things to buy.

the 14 day black sheep one? or the 22 or 9 day one? 14 day, 5600! well...i won't have that much in august, but maybe by october. not that you need me to go with you. but if you wanted company and i had any money, i would totally go.

I was thinking of doing the 11 day one on either the north or south island and then staying another couple days somewhere on my own. I'd love it if you came but I'm going to be buying tickets and everything sometime soon I think. Plus you are so going to spend all your money at the bazaar

i didn't spend ALL my money at the bazaar. all the cash i had on me, yes. but not all my money. i now have a lovely new ring and bracelet though. and some clothes. and a bag. and some beads to make worry strings out of (it's a greek thing).

soon soon? why so soon?! i'll be in delphi and meteora/kalambaka the next three days and then on crete. i don't know when i'll next have internet access. sigh. maybe i can still buy stuff later though even if you buy all yours now? maybe there will still be spots in the tour group thing?
