You know the Queen?!

Despite the fact that I was just complaining about how crazy work is, my job is sometimes very cool and I get to meet some fascinating people.

I recently meet someone who worked at Buckingham Palace. I mean Buckingham Palace! In England! Where the Queen lives! Where Harry and William could be walking the halls!

He worked with Diana, the Queen, and some Duke or other. So bizarre. And he was talking about the time he meet Clinton, Bush, and Nelson Mandela. I cannot imagine. When I voiced my amazment at his past job location, his reponse was, "Why, it's just a job."

Well yea, but......Buckingham Palace!

but its the Palace! THE palace! betcha he's glad he's not in London right now...although i suppose people who work in the Palace don't generally take the tube.

They could. He did say it's just a job. Just a job people would take the tube

i guess so...maybe its just me. maybe i wouldn't take the tube if i worked at the palace since the only way i would be of use at the palace is as a princess anyway.

That's right. Can I be the ugly stepsister who gets all your hand me downs.

Of course you can have all my hand me downs, but there is no sense in making you ugly...you can just be the low maintenance stepsister.

Wait a minute. Aren't you French? I was hoping for a united Franco-Irish front against the Crown here. The palace is just a building. The royals are just people. Terrible, terrible people.

actually we're French AND Irish, so we could do a lot of damage together - and how am I supposed to take over the Crown if I don't pretend to be one of them first? it's all a matter of manipulation....

i missed those bombs by like 10 hours! and also by the fact that i never left the airport! i don't see why they didn't put one on my plane thus bombing the english (british airways) and the greeks (olympics 2004). maybe they should have bombed a flight to china though. though really i don't think they should have bombed anything.

I'm glad you are ok. How's Greece?

Posted by: nuala on July 9, 2005 01:00 PM

let me tell you. athens, it is lame. it's hot and muggy and UGLY. modern greek architecture? it's hideous! it's all square blocks and dilapidated. the design of this city leaves a lot to be desired. also, there's not much to do. you can see the acropolis in under 4 hours. then what do you do? why am i here for 5 days?!?! luckily our hotel is great. they're doing our laundry for us today even. how sweet is that?

Posted by: michele on July 10, 2005 07:06 AM
