So today over a breakfast of pancakes and sausage (why was I having a leisurely breakfast you wonder, because I did not work until 3pm today and a good thing because I was out until a godforsaken hour on a Monday due to Courtney being in town) Garren and I started talking about his birthday. Well actually I started talking about his birthday as he is turning 25 and I think we should do something special. He doesn't like to make a big deal out of his birthday, however I think he is secretly pleased by the idea.
Anyways so our ideas (read Nuala's ideas) were either to go to Disneyland for a couple of days (he apparently hasn't been in 10 years. Don't you think it's time for him to go?) OR to go camping in Big Sur or some other camping location to be decided. (He hasn't been camping in years either) We thought however that it would be fun to make this an open invitation for whoever might be interested in either possibility. So basically here what I'm asking is if we were to do something for Garren's birthday, for those of you who know us and love us would you like to join us? And if so what activity would you be interested in? (Garren does have veto power, which I think he might utilize just because he thinks it's the only time he'll ever have veto power, so you may want to vote for the opposite of what you really want to do.)
This would probably take place sometime in August around the 13th (as that is his birthday) and it does have every possibility of being sometime mid week as Garren may or may not be able to get time off on the weekend.
So there it is. Garren is turning a quarter of a century on August 13th. Will you be there?

i would like to be there! but at the same time, marina's getting married in SD on the 18th of august (which pretty much everyone you know up here is going to), so timing could be difficult. also i hate disneyland and all of its stupid children rides (except space mountain), so i would vote for big sur camping. but i know that kristen and gene were planning a trip to disneyland for this summer so maybe your plans could combine.

I like the camping in Big Sur idea as I've found a few campgrounds along the river (with showers and all sorts of non camping amenities). you can go intertubing down the River! I think that would be a nice day....so we'll see what the birthday boy says.

I love camping. And Big Sur. And birthdays. I guess it will just depend on the wedding schedule and Gene's work stuff and when it is.
