Ahh the Munchkins

So one week has passed while I toiled away at Sequoia Elementary with a bunch of 9 year olds and this is what my experience boils down to:

1. Kids have germs
2. Kids like to share germs
3. Nuala does not like to share germs but somehow got germs anyways
4. Nuala is sick
5. Nuala is still know as the twin from Melo's Pizza. (She's not my twin. Is she older then? No I'm older)
6. Children and adults alike still think I'm under 20.
7. I taught a handwriting lesson even though I suck at handwriting and I haven't written in cursive since 6th grade. Ironic? I think so. My lesson will probably be the most useless thing they ever learn, that is if they even remember what I said.
8. Despite al this I really like working with kids and being in a classroom all day. Go figure.

I so SO enjoyed that list. even had to read it out loud to the parents. we all laughed at the sister and the handwriting items. you are a funny girl you know. when are we going to hang out though?

I have few and far between moments of silliness, but I'm glad you at least enjoy them. I dunno when we are going to hang out? When are you going to be around?

Did I ever tell you that you should be a teacher?
As I'm older now, I cannot remember.
I hope I did, though, because I'm so happy that you are becoming one!
Too bad you're not going to be a history teacher, but I understand the attraction of the little ones....but, Nuala, all those germs......

:) you did tell her that once. cause it was all in one week where like 3 different people told her she'd be a good teacher and she told me about it and you were one of the people. i think it was at that point that she realized if so many people thought she might be good at it that maybe she really would be. and look at her now she is! only with also lots of coughing and snot.

Michele's right Eydie, you did tell me to be a teacher and you're right I should be one. And now I will! Everyone who ever told me to be a teacher is right. There I admit it. And it if it makes you feel better if I do end up teaching 4th grade, California History is a big part of the cirriculum, so see History teaching for me.

As for the germs they keep telling me I'll eventually be immune to all the nasty things the kids drag in. Here's hoping it's true.

it is true! i mean it took erica a good 3/4s of the year. but you get the immunities eventually. and you don't even have to live in a plastic bubble a la bubble boy. ahhh jake googly moogly.

but what are you doing online? why aren't you in class right now?

I was in class. The kids were at P.E and so I used the classroom computer to check email and cementhorizon. I'm sneaky like that.

People thinking you're younger than you are is a wonderful thing. You will surely appreciate it when you are old and people are all, "Whoa. What? You're how old??? Amazing." I *think* that feels good to hear.

So teach on, my sistah!!!
