Mini Nuala and Ady

I got my mom a necklace from Planetjill for Christmas. What's Planetjill you ask? It's a company who makes handmade jewlery, where you send them a picture and then they take that picture and put it on a necklace or a bracelet or all sort of things. They emailed me the proof over a month and a half ago and I SO wanted to share it, however, mom sometimes checks the site so I couldn't take the chance. But now she has the necklace so I can reveal the proof to all.

Can I mention how long it took me just to decide on this picture? I ransacked mom's photos last time I was in Benicia. Now that was not a pretty picture.

P.S. The actual charm is actually about 3/4" wide and tall. To give you some perspective.

Oh Boy

Fuck. I did it. I called Yutaro. And actually talked to him. And made an appointment. And am now hyperventilating. I'm getting a tattoo. March 6th. 1pm. Be there or be square.

For those of you who forgot, this is the tattoo. Except now I'm just getting the center part and it's going to go on my shoulder.

Fuck.

Canceled TV Shows

TOP TEN TV SHOWS THAT GOT CANCELED THAT WE'RE STILL UPSET ABOUT
by Ady and Nuala

10. Roswell......more Nuala than me...but where does the WB get off canceling a mediocre drama about pretty people with special powers, those executives should be fired.

9. Models Inc....does anyone else remember this show??? we LOVED this show. this time it was REALLY beautiful people with "real" model problems. it was full of cat fighting, man stealing, and manipulating....a formula for a hit show...god damn Fox network.

8. The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles....oh pretty pretty Sean Patrick Flannery....and a really good show to boot. Nuala MADE me watch this show, i really had no choice in the matter, and it was the type of show you were going to like regardless of how stubborn you are against the concept....and they cancelled it....Nuala was upset for a LONG time, all you have to do is bring it up around her and you're in for quite a ranting.

7. Top of the Heap.....i don't think anyone remembers this show, it was a spin off of Married with Children...not as good...but definitely worth the half hour attention span....and at ten years old a 23 year old Matt LeBlanc was something to be happy about watching on Thursday nights. and yet we still came out okay with this one because it was replaced by 90210....softened the blow a little bit...nice of them to care.

6. Punky Brewster.....i was so upset...and the worst part was i didn't get it....what do you mean there's no more episodes....there have to be more episodes...nobody asked me....they can't just do that without checking with us first! but they did.....heartless, heartless studio bastards.

5. Class of '96......this was a damn good show..they were going for the college version of 90210, for a more "mature" audience so to speak, if that actually exists with these kind of shows. it had the girl from Doogie Howser (the girlfriend) and Jason Gedrick the really hot "newcomer" at that time....this one really pissed us off...Nuala still has her favorite episode on tape... and because it got canceled we had to make do with the 90210 version of college life....and we all know how that turned out.

4. Partners.....this was a great show...and everyone's reaction was the same..."dude i love that show, it has Ducky from Pretty in Pink"....yes kids it starred Jon Cryer and Tate Donovan, before he became famous for dating Jennifer Aniston, and it was a really funny show...good times taken away by some stupid executive with bad taste.

3. Once and Again.....i just love Sela Ward...and Billy Campbell...and Shane West...and Steven Weber....and Eric Stoltz....what the fuck were they thinking...good dramas about normal suburban folk are really hard to find because frankly...they're not that interesting most of the time....and they had to go and cancel the only show i've enjoyed since our number one on the list.....i hate them.

2. Quantam Leap.....yes it was canceled, it only lasted four years, and after finally understanding why the show was so fabulous and why Nuala absolutely refused to change the channel they cancelled it on us.....

1. My So-Called life....by far the most devastating tv cancellation of our young lives.....we were REALLY upset...i even signed a petition. this was by far one of the best shows ever produced for tv and we truly HATE the people who gave the go ahead to cancel it. now we will never know what happened with Angela and Jordan....and that my friends is just not right.

If I Was on Survivor I'd Lose

After leading all season in the Survivor Fantasy league, and royally kicking Aaron's (shoefly's) butt, I lost my 1st place standing over the finale. And why? Because I am no good at saying who is going to go out when and that's the only way to make points on the last episode.

I know that no one reading this will really care about the points I got on fantasy league which really are no good to me except as bragging rights over Aaron, but I wanted to beat Aaron to the punch of saying I lost my first place standing. Yes, Aaron I did, but I was in the lead the whole game and I kicked your butt so whatever. I admit I am no good at predicting who will win. I wanted Sandra to win, but I thought she would go out early and I did think Jon would make it to the final two. If Lill had been smart she would have taken Jon and I would have made more points. However the fact that Jon got no money out of the game makes me EXTREMELY happy.

So I came in second. Oh well....what place were you Aaron? Oh that's right we don't like to talk about that. Hmph!

Top Ten

My sister having read that I thought my site had gone the route of dull, decided to help me out and suggested that we write a top ten list. I came up with the topic and a couple of the choices listed below. The comments and order of the top ten were strictly all Ady, however I still think Care Bears the Movie II: The New Generation should have made the list.

TOP TEN BEST (HORRIBLE) CHILDHOOD MOVIES NO ONE ELSE REMEMBERS....OR REFUSES TO ADMIT THEY WATCHED
By Nuala and Ady

10. Labyrinth.....come on you all saw it...and i'd put money on the fact that's how most of us were at least introduced to the always amazing David Bowie, its the most fabulous creepy film that a child should be required to see.

9. The Cat From Outer Space......oh my god we loved this movie....a Sandy Duncan classic really....i mean can you honestly go wrong in your career making a movie about a cat - from outer space - with magical powers thanks to his flashy collar? brilliance.....

8. Can't Buy Me Love....by far the best Patrick Dempsey movie from the 80's...granted thats not saying much but its never good to set your standards too high when it comes to the 80's.

7. Ranibow Brite and the Star Stealer....yes kids that would be a Rainbow Brite film......do we feel guilty for having watched this - NO....do we feel guilty that we still watch it - maybe..... but it passes.

6. Vice Versa.....Judge Reinhold and the 80's phenomenon that was Fred Savage switch places as father and son - nough said.

5. The Apple Dumpling Gang......it's very possible that no one has ever seen this...it is without a doubt one of the dumbest films we ever watched....kind of a poor retarded man's version of Bonnie and Clyde... which i personally credit to the presence of Don Knotts in the film......but boy that Bill Bixby sure was cute.

4. Feds.....everyone soooo needs to see this movie. Rebecca DeMornay as a FBI trainee with that woman from Saturday Night Live who was in every movie in the 80's. this movie was the first to introduce us to the phrase and life lesson of "kick him in the balls".....quality fucking film.

3. The Devil and Max Devlin....almost no one has ever seen this movie...even we had to think for awhile to come up with the name of it...it was always just that movie with Bill Cosby and the white guy with the afro (Elliott Gould)....oscar worthy - NO...drunk purposeless party kinda worthy - YES.

2. Darby O'Gill and the Little People......this whole movie is validated by the presence of a then 18 year old Sean Connery, we need not mention anything else....except all those little people really did scare me....

1. Condorman.....the absolute best worst movie no one has ever seen......after you see this movie you no longer wonder why Michael Crawford doesn't really do tv or film anymore...you do however loose a small amount of respect for Oliver Reed....he must have done it for the money.....he must have just REALLY needed the money....may he rest in peace

Exciting Times in the Life of Nuala

Can I just say that I feel like all my enteries have become "blah" lately. I mean compared to everyone else's postings, mine are just plain boring. The main reason I think this is true is because I can't write about things that happen at work, so the main portion of interesting stories that I could tell are unpostable.

So while I know most of you are all probably thinking, "Oh that Nuala one she never posts anything good anymore. She must be the most boring person alive, and nothing interesting ever happens to her." Well I just want to let you know that while interesting things may not always happen to me, they happen around me at work, and while I'm burning to post some things on the website, I would get into so much trouble if I did.

Maybe I should just resort to lying like Michele and Kristen. Maybe that would keep you all entertained and keep me from feeling like I have the most boring site on the internet.

Oh the cats I could have

So I've been volunteering at the cat shelter in town for a couple of weeks now and all I have to say is thank god I have Ribbon, because I literally would have at least three of these cats if I didn't know that Ribbon would throw a fit and hate me forever. There is one little kitty in particular at the cat shelter called Flame that I am so desperate to take home. She's about 14 and the poor thing had a eye taken out a couple of weeks ago. She also looks like her nose has been sunburned badly and being old she seems to have arthritis. She's a wreck, but one of the sweetest cats I've ever met. I wish I could give her a home as all she needs is a place to call her own and some daily attention. It breaks my heart to see her at the shelter, and because of how she looks with one eye and all being old she probably doesn't have much of a chance of being adopted.

Don't get me wrong the shelter is great. The cats are well taken care of, they all get tons of attention, but still they are in the cages alot and obviously just want some love. It breaks my heart to see so many loveable cats in need of a home.

So if anyone is looking for a cat anytime soon, come see the cats at my shelter! I know, I know there are cats at your local shelter who also need homes, so even if you can't come see these loveable cats, when you do look for one don't go straight for the kitties, the older ones need a home too and they're usually way more loveable and cuddly than a kitty with all their energy. Believe me I know. Living with a kitten and an old cat has made me appreicate my loving, slow, cuddly old man who would rather sleep next to me than run around like a spaz all day long.

Sorry for the rant, but everytime I think about Flame, I just want to find her a home. I hate to see lonely kitties. But it's okay, I'm going to the shelter tomorrow so I'll be able to pay her some attention.

I'll also eventually post a picture of our spaz kitty as she's adorable and deserving of internet fame and fortune.
