Score!

I am the happiest girl on the planet. Yesterday because of my obsessiveness with TV I got one of only 3 DVR's that they had at the cable company. Apparently they have more downtown, but I got one of the only three at the location near my house and that was exciting enough.

And then I set it up. This machine is so freaking beautiful. I can tape two shows at once! No more do I have to decide which show I'm willing to miss in case I can't make it home in time. I don't have to worry about missing Angel or the OC every again. Oh and while I'm taping these two shows I can watch a taped show.

And I can pause tv. If one of you calls I'm more likely to answer the phone now, cause hey I can pause, talk to you and then pick up where I left off. You see, my getting a DVR is beneficial to you all.

I tried it out last night. I taped Angel, even though I was home to watch it. And hey what happened? While I was watching it I missed something Andrew (Andrew!) said and so I pressed rewind, and guess what? It freaking worked. I heard what I missed and continued to watch with no problems.

Now if only I could get the damn thing to cut out commercials. But apparently that is not a feature brought to you by a cable company. sigh.

OH MY FUCKING GOD

I'm still giddy. It happened over a half hour ago and I'm still all fluttery. I couldn't keep this one inside. I couldn't not tell the world about this one cause it was way too exciting for me. You're probably all wonder what the hell I'm babbling about, well give me a second to calm down and I'll tell you. I met someone. And even talked to someone. (not that the talking was great or the subject interesting, but there were words exchanged and that's good enough for me)

I'm sure you're all mentally screaming, "WHO GOD DAMN YOU! WHO?" Well I'll give you a hint. He's silly and funny and does the snoopy dance. Dark hair and funny shirts. (at least his character always had loud shirts)

Still don't know? His character dated a girl named Cordy..... That's right! Ha! I'm still aglow. He could not keep his identity a secret from me even with the baseball cap, the black rimed glasses and the HUGE mustache (which might I add looks like one of those truck driver ones that comes down to your chin, in fact he looked like he was playing a truck driver character....hmmm go figure)

The only sighting that could top this one at this point would be a view of the Angel. The fact that I am so happy from this two minute meeting is pathetic, but there it is. I will continue to glow on my own now and stop the ridiculous gushing........giggle.

Brace Yourselves

So ever since I saw the Indian movie Mohabbatein a few years ago, I've been obsessed with one of the actress from the film, Aishwarya Rai. (In fact Sumit brought me two of her movies last time he went home. It's nice to have these hard to get Indian Movie connections. Maybe not for anyone else, but for me, who can't seem to get a hold of them, and wants them, it's great!) But basically I love to watch anything she is in as she's just stunning. (side note: She's a former Miss World and is currently called the "Queen of Bollywood")

Well wasn't I freaking fascinated when I stumbled upon an article in USA Today yesterday at work which described Ms. Rai's next project as Bride and Prejudice, directed by Gurinder Chadha, the very woman who brought us Bend it Like Beckham with our lovely favorite, Mr. Cheek bones.

If this combination was not exciting enough to me, can you possibly guess what Bride and Prejudice is about? I'm sure you can. The official description is, ahem, "An update of Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice that incorporates the musical styles of India with those of Hollywood, Broadway and Chadha's (the director) native England" I nearly fell off my chair at work. Musical numbers to the plot of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice with my favorite Indian actress, most likely in the part of Lizzie! Good god it's like a dream I never dared dream come to life. And I'm sure you're wondering, because I was, who is playing our loveable Mr. Darcy? Well unfortunately it's not Mr. Cheek bones, it is however, Martin Henderson, best well know for his role in The Ring.

I'm highly excited by the whole project. It's going to be released in 2004. Here's hoping it doesn't disappoint me. I'm sure it's already disappointed the rest of you, but I'm only concerned about me here.

A Hobbit Hunting I Will Go

Peter Jackson is being awarded the Modern Masters Award at the Santa Barbara Film Festival at the end of the month, and there are rumors that part or all of the cast from Lord of the Rings will attend in support of Mr. Jackson and the movie as a final push before the Academy Awards. And I've got tickets, which were not hard to get, but still I'll be there and I've decided that while I'm there and while they are there that it is a good a time as any to catch me a hobbit. Of course an elf would work too. Or a King of Gondor. Even Gandalf will do as Kristen has suggested that he would make a good shopping buddy, and I'm inclined to follow her intuition in this matter.

I'm looking forward to the film festival as I will hopefully be able to do a little star watching as well as film watching. They're even going to be showing some old musicals on the big screen including my favorite Fred Astaire movie, Top Hat. If you're interested in what else they will be showing at the festival click here.

But don't forget to wish me luck on my hobbit hunting. I'm hoping to bag one and bring him home with me. Silly little hobbits. *GRIN*
