Woo Hoo!

Deanna and I have found a new place to live. It is located here and it looks like this from the outside. It is a 3 bedroom, 1 bath with a large living room, breakfast nook, outside patio, washer dryer and huge outside area with fireplace and picnic benches. Cats are ok so I will so be getting a kitten very very soon.

Deanna and I are really excited. We are hoping that our friend Courtney will move in with us, but even if she doesn't we think we will be able to find someone to rent out the third room much more easily than we ever could at our current house.

So yea! I'm not homeless. I have a plan. I can relax. I have been relentless the past two weeks in finding a place and if I hadn't been we never would have found anything so pat on the back to me.

We are moving in the weekend of July 8th so we are able to give our current landlord 30 days + notice. Anyone who wants to come for a visit and/or help me move feel free. There should be a kitten around to play with....hint hint Michele....(I know, I'm evil)

bunny update and other stuff

While I was volunteering on Monday at ASAP cat shelter I went over to buns to check on bunny who I took there on Friday.

Bunny is actually a girl and they named her Jill. Her leg was broken in two places (hence why she was limping) and she was very skinny. She is currently in foster care so that she can recover, put on some weight and be returned to buns to be adopted. It sounds like they are taking great care of her so for those of you who may be worried (Michele? or maybe just me) bunny is in good hands.

In other news I will be getting a kitten soon. It is kitten season and I'm ready for another cat. I'm getting really excited about it. On Monday there was the cutest little orange tabby who was about two months old. If the finder hadn't already claimed him I would have taken him home this week. ADORABLE. I was looking at getting a Scottish Fold cat as I think they are the most adorable breed and there are some for sale, but I think I will be getting a kitten from the shelter. I just cat buy a designer kitty when so many other cats need a home. I just feel bad.

But for those who are interested (Michele again?) there are pictures below of the scottish fold kitties available. So cute.

Kitty #1
Kitty #2
Kitty #3

In yet more news I think Deanna and I are moving. We've been going back and forth trying to decide if we want to stay and try and find a new roommate or just bite the big one and find a two bedroom so that we don't have to deal with anyone else. I think there is another mouse in the house so I'm leaning towards moving today. Tomorrow may be another story.

The reason this came about is our other housemate Tania is moving and our landlord is selling the house. I just heard that the house is in escrow, and we can stay as long as we want. The new owner is fine with us staying, but I think Deanna and I both need a change so....

The only problem is that I hate moving. And that it will be more expensive, but hopefully it will be a nicer place and with just me and Deanna there shouldn't be any problems.

Anyways. Wish me luck is my point here. Looking for places in SB is not fun or cheap but here's hoping things work out for the best.

put the bunny down

I have a bunny.

Yesterday there was a knock at our door and at the door was our landlord who's first words were, "Is that your bunny?" pointing to the little guy eating the grass on our front lawn. It was in fact not our bunny.

It was determined that poor bunny had been chased by a chiuauaua earlier that morning (Deanna saw it), that he must be someone's pet as he was not scared of people, and that he had hurt his leg as he was not putting any weight on it.

I had Rocky's old cage and put the bunny in it and let everyone involved know that I would take him to the animal shelter BUNS today. But then I was like, "wait what do I do with bunny?" So I called Krista because she is my animal guru, being a vet tech and all. I was assured that bunny would be fine in the cage and that he would be able to drink water out of a bowl and that he would appreciate carrots and water and that he would not attempt to eat newspaper if I put it down in the cage.

So bunny has been happily eating carrots all night and seems just fine. I'm going to ditch work for a bit today so I can take him to BUNS. I almost want to keep him. He's pretty damn cute, but bunny will be happier with some vet attention and some other bunnies to socialize with.

I'll try and take a picture of bunny before I dropp him off for those who might wish to experience his cutness.

heh. I have a bunny.

I'm not left handed either

I am so excited about tonight. I visited this placed called Cellar 205 for work about a month ago. It's a auto garage which has been converted into a winery in downtown Santa Barbara. They also have a small tasting room to promote the wines made on the premises.

Besides being a working winery and tasting room they sometimes put on events. And sometimes the event is a movie night. You bring your own chairs, blankets, etc and they sell wine and beer by the glass and they put on the movie for free. And do you know what movie they're showing tonight? I'm sure most of you do from the title of this post. Yep they're showing the Princess Bride. I am prepared for a big screen viewing of Wesley and Buttercup while I quote along to the entire movie and sip my wine. It should be fun times for all involved.

Coachella 2006

So Coachella was last weekend. I've been meaning to post about it all week, however I've been swamped at work and only just got the chance to sit down and type.

We had a great time. Krista flew in from Colorado and we picked up Long Hai in Santa Monica and headed off to Indio. We decided to camp on the grounds this year. It is insane how many people are actually there and how many people say so many stupid things. We started a quote journal writing down stupid things we said as well as others. Quote books are fun times. I recommend them, especially at work. It's amazing what dumb things you say at work sometimes, especially in the service industry. Priceless.

Saturday was by far the best day of Coachella. We started off by seeing Infusion who were so into their music that it was infectious. After that we walked around and vegged in the sun until it was time for Wolfmother. This was the main reason that Long Hai came and the tent was packed. They were a great rock band but not my favorite. I wasn't able to even get in the tent to see Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah! after that. I did manage to get to the edge of the entrance and listen to one of their better known songs and I was ok with that.

After that Deanna and I hooked up with Long Hai and Krista again and we headed off to the main stage for Kayne West who by far put on one of the best shows of the event. He played all his hits and had a great sense of humor. He started to play DJ at one point and topped it off by playing his favorite song, "Take on me" by Aha. I kid you not. Watching Kayne rock out to Aha was priceless.

After Kayne, Long Hai and I moved up in the crowd to get closer for Franz Ferdinand. Unfortunately we had to suffer through Sigor Ros who neither of us were familiar with. Deanna and Krista couldn't stand the press of people coupled with the music and bailed about 10 minutes into the set. (later after getting home a friend said that if he had known Sigor Ros was going to play at Coachella he would have come. I stared at him in disbelief) Despite the fact that Long Hai and I were tortured for about 40 minutes it was worth it to be able to push our way closer for Franz Ferdinand which was so much fun. We weren't right next to the stage but we were dead center and I could see the band pretty clearly.

We ditched the crowd after that and moved to the back for Depeche Mode. I have to say I was overall disappointed with Depeche Mode. It could be because I didn't stick around for the older stuff which I know they played later but I just wasn't into it enough to really stick around. Long Hai and I decided to head over to Daft Punk. We got a space early in the middle of the tent and I am so glad we did.

Daft Punk was AMAZING. I have never had so much fun at a show. The reality is that everything after them was a let down. I think it is the main reason that my Sunday was no where near as fun as Saturday. The crowd was so into the show and Daft Punk just worked it. When they played Around the World all I could think of was the summer Michele, Kristen and I heard that song all over Europe and how Michele and I told Kristen that there was no way they were saying Around the World. I don't know what we thought they were saying but it sure as hell wasn't around the world. I would pay $150 just to see Daft Punk again. Unfortunately they are not playing anywhere else in the states this year. sigh.

Sunday I saw James Blunt, Kaskade, Paul Okenfold, Madonna, Go! Team and Tool. James Blunt was great as well as Paul Okenfold. We were dead center in the tent again for Madonna but the stupid press were in the sound area and a foot taller than everyone else so that you couldn't see anything. Madonna started her 50 minute set 20 minutes late meaning she only played for 30 minutes. After waiting in that press of people we ended up outside 10 minutes after she started as we couldn't see anything. I'm so sorry that I left the tent because even though I couldn't really see anything the sound was much better in the tent. sigh. Most people have said the show sucked. It sucked for me because I was constantly trying to find a better view, however I feel that if I had at least a partial view it would have been a great show. She is after all a performer. Rude but a performer none the less.

After Madonna I pretty much crashed and was ready for bed. Long Hai left that night with some friends from LA and Krista, Deanna and I headed home on Monday morning. Overall it was a great trip and I'm so glad we went. There are some pictures posted here from Deanna's camera. Long Hai is supposed to get me the doubles from his camera soon and I'll share them when I can. Otherwise pleae find our quotes from Coachella below.

"Jesus loves me. Repeat and Believe" - Billboard on freeway (It actually said Repent and Believe but I read Repeat which I think is much better.)

"I'm one of those bitter fucks" - Long Hai

"Feel the power" (of the breakfast burrito) - Deanna

"I'm starting to need to go to the bathroom again and I'm scared." - Deanna

He's a sexual Intellectual!" - Random camper

"Isn't it Pabst beer? Did you just say papsmear?" - Tent Villager

"Alright white people, this is the only time you can say Nigga." - Kayne West

"Well it's not going to lick itself" - Tshirt of Fellow Music lover

"There's an over population of bacteria in my mouth and I just performed genocide." - Krista after brushing her teeth.

"The eagle has landed." - Portable John Occupant.
