Drug addict not for me...check

So I got my wisdom teeth out on Thursday and while it has been a pretty painless experience on the whole, no swelling or brusing, (yea me!), I've come to realize that I could never make it as a drug addict. I have no patience for the whole mess and I hate the way I feel on any type of narcotic, legal or otherwise. (not that I know about the non legal kind, but I imagine my reaction would be the same)

Not that I minded being knocked out for the duration of time where they pulled out my teeth. Thank god I was out for that, but afterwards when they woke me up all I wanted was to have a clear head, so I tried to sleep it off. Once the lack of teeth started to hurt I took one of the pain medications they had perscribed for me and immediately had my typical perscribed medication experience, which involves beginning to feel even more nauseous and later throwing up anything in my stomach.

My whole point her is that any type of drug that I have ever been perscribed has either made me horribly sick or want to go to sleep. I don't feel that it is a good trend. Since my lack of teeth haven't troubled me too much I've stuck to Advil and steered clear of the vomit inducing pill. Mainly I find this whole thing funny because when I dropped my perscription off at the Pharmacy Michele was trying to convince me I should have made them give me something stronger (she seemed to have decided what I had just wouldn't cut it) and all I was thinking was "I'm probably going to puke this up, something stronger would probably give me a heart attack." While Michele is thinking, "Coedine....lovely Coedine GIVE IT TO ME." Or at least that's what I imagined her thinking.

But at least now I can cross drug addict off my list of possible career goals. I'm narrowing down the field.

P.S. I kept my teeth and one they managed to keep intact. It's so friggin weird looking, not at all how I imagined. Wisdom teeth are weird.

you got to see your teeth?! i want to see!

for the record. she was getting amoxicillin. i was advocating the need for demoral and vicoden. (sp?)

Yea I even got to keep my teeth.

DID YOU PUT THEM UNDER YOUR PILLOW?!

My love affair with Demoral has been well documented. I was all prepared to post something like, "So, you're saying you've got a lot of extra Vicodin lying around?" but you got boringass drugs.

P.S. I'm glad the teeths (or lack of teeths) are doing better.

a girl in my class got two teeth pulled the other day, and for the rest of the week walked around with a pink, pop-apart disco ball around her neck with the teeth inside. which wouldn't have been so bad had it not been for the fact that, of course, the disco ball fell apart at least twice, which made for many harrowing scenes of "find the extracted teeth." yuck.

oh poor you! no more teethses. that will be my fate soon too. my dentist has been eyeing my wisdom toothses with increasing maliciousness. i don't know about drug addictions, but me and heroin will never have a relationship...no needles. NO NEEDLES!!
hope you're feeling better now tho.

No I did not put them under my pillow. No tooth fairy money for me. sigh.

Do you know what the word of the day is for March 18th? I missed it.

good lord girl you are the word of the day it girl now.

I know it's kinda weird and it they always ask when I am not ever possibly looking at the computer. But for the record yesterday's was CANDLE and today's is WHISTLE. Why I let these people get my hard earned points I'll never know.

Thanks, I did get this mornings word. I can't help the fact that when I put "alice radio word of the day" into Google your blog popped up! Just in case you are interested, this is what I did last night so I will never miss the word of the day again. I hooked up my stereo tuner to my VCRs audio input, and set the VCR to record from 6:58am to 7:08am every morning. (I found this solution on craigslist, I can't take credit for the idea, but apparently there are a lot of people out there scrambling to get the word of the day!).

Oh no it's fine. I don't mind I just find it funny

"P.S. I kept my teeth" is not a sentence i ever want to hear from you following a story about oral surgery ever again. ever. following a story about how you got really really old and just naturally kept your teeth, that is okay.

just wanted you to know. I am laying down the law.

but seriously, where did you put it? you could play such fun tricks, like leaning over someone's glass and dropping it in and pretending it just fell out of your gums and screaming.

I put it with my baby teeth. My dad kept all of them, so they're just sitting there in a little bag with my baby teeth. I dunno why, but it seems like a shame to throw them out.

When you took the coedine did you make sure that you did not do it on an empty stomach? You're only supposed to take it when you've eaten. Hugh
