The Land of Scarlett

Ok now I'm freaking out. Garren and I sent Michael our resumes last night. Michael being the efficient man that he is has already shown my resume to the head of Sales and Catering and I'm going to be having a phone interview either tomorrow or the next day.

Basically as long as the interview goes well (that I will be having at 7am before work since they are 3 hours ahead - I will need coffee), they will be flying us out there soon.

Things are suddenly moving really quickly and they feel more real. I had a mini freak out this morning after talking to Michael. I had to make sure that Garren really wanted to do this as I didn't want to start the process if we both weren't sure. He's sure. And I think I really do want it, but it is out of my comfort zone so I'm still freaking out.

I mean I could be in Georgia as soon as May/June.

It's ok. You'll go and try it out. There will be a period of adjustment, which you'll get through because it will be exciting too, and then there will be a period of working out whether you like it. And if you don't like it, you'll come back, because by then you'll have been there for a respectable length of time and it won't look bad on your resume or anything to leave. But probably you will like it: a great job, a new city, you'll have friends around, Garren will be there. Don't panic!

p.s. Also, maybe they'll pay you a ton of money and you can come back and buy a house in Santa Barbara. I mean after you also sell a lung or something.

It is more money. probably not enough to buy a house in SB though and live off of the interest. sigh.

I hate interviews.

don't freak out - go for it! we'll come visit! and hey - Erik's dad lives in Georgia! then we'd have double reasons to fly out there for Thanksgiving!

i could come visit in june! eeeee! horrible east coast summer weather, whoopee!

i am delighted that they're going to fly you out there. that's awesome. free trip!

good luck with your interview!!!

Thanks. I've gotten word that it is tomorrow at 7am. the interview. It's good to know that you all want to come out to Georgia.

I think Georgia could be exciting. If nothing else, you'll be close to Jacksonville, the birthplace of Limp Bizkit AND the Quad City DJs. Move your arm up and down and make that choo choo sound, Nuala, though not during your interview.

it is because i am a visiting fiend! first this weekend, georgia this summer, next the world!

email me after your interview! i will be going crazy (in my sleep) wondering how it went.

you better email me and mom too! we need a prompt update woman!

aw, i just read this article about georgia, and i've got to say, nuala, that you are potentially moving to the best of states. one high school is trying to have it's first ever non-segregated prom!

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18034102/?GT1=9246

they even crowned a mixed-race student homecoming queen! and the principal has promised to "do them right". could that closing statement be MORE inadvertantly lecherous? i think not.

I don't think they even have black people in Santa Barbara, do they? ("The black kids have always held their own Santa Barbara...it's just the way everyone has always preferred it to be.") This WILL be exciting.

you two are horrible.

Also Sean, I think I will moving my hand up and down and doing the choo choo sound until someone tells me to shut up just to make myself giggle.
